„Having a close and empathetic relationship with my patients allows me to solve their problems as quickly and accurately as possible.“
Dr. Luisa Gaytan is a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, having studied medicine at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala. Daughter of a doctor, she completed her specialty in obstetrics and gynecology at the Guatemalan Social Security Institute. Afterward, at the University of Chile, she specialized in obstetric ultrasound focused on fetal echocardiography, which can intercept cardiac-intrauterine abnormalities. This is a preventive examination, which can help treat any baby’s heart problem before birth.
Dr. Gaytan has had uncountable successful cases, thanks to the prenatal checkups performed with 5D fetal echocardiography. The main objective of this practice is to identify the higher-risk patients, in order to perform an intervention when necessary, to prevent future complications during pregnancy and labor.
At her Gynecological Clinic, located in zone 10 of Guatemala City, she mainly dedicates to prenatal checkups, pregnancy checks, delivery in childbirth, cesarean sections, and the puerperium. The puerperium is the care for the woman, while her reproductive system is fully recovering after delivery, which lasts approximately five or six weeks.
Likewise, she treats gynecological problems; fibroids issues: these are noncancerous tumors of the uterus, that mainly appear during the fertile years; polycystic ovaries; abnormal uterine bleeding, perform hysterectomy or operation to remove the womb, perform gynecological ultrasounds, and all kinds of treatments for women’s diseases. Also, she attends to patients who are going through climacteric and menopause, a very sensitive stage of women, which requires empathy and a special understanding by the doctor.
Dr. Gaytan helps women plan their pregnancy, whether they want to get pregnant soon or are looking for some short or long-term family planning method. Something to highlight is, what makes her unique is her charismatic attention, passion for her work, and constant monitoring of her patients. She stands out for having the ability to serve people of multiple nationalities since she speaks the languages: Spanish, English, French, and Italian.
Dr. Luisa Gaytan understands that most of her patients are looking for an accompaniment in natural labor and it is for this reason that she has prepared herself in the practice of respected childbirth. This consists of the mum and the baby having immediate contact, at the moment of birth, since attachment at this moment is fundamental for their general well-being. In addition, she and her team will ensure that the patient has the most natural birth experience possible, with a lot of support for the mother and her little one. They will always do everything in their power to ensure that the mother gets the most beautiful labor. This unique and unrepeatable experience should be a memory full of happiness for her and her baby.
„A good gynecologist is always willing to attend, solve and help her patients“
