Formular einfüllenDr. Hector Licinio Torres Arenas is a surgeon with a specialization in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He practices in the San Lucas Dental Center, a multi-professional clinic where the latest techniques and equipment are used for dental treatments. Located in the municipality of San Lucas, Sacatepéquez, it is 12 km from La Antigua Guatemala. The doctor attends to patients, both young and old, who mainly need some type of minor surgery.
Dr. Torres has 9 years of experience as a dentist. Most often he performs strings, surgery for facial fractures, and dental implants, which replace a missing tooth. Less frequently, he performs surgeries such as removal of mandibular or maxillary cysts, apicectomies, osteosynthesis, and repair of fractures of the jaw. However, his favorite procedures are osteosynthesis and string surgery. Osteosynthesis surgery joins fragments of a fractured bone with pieces of metal. Certain surgeries, such as wisdom teeth, are more effective and have fewer complications in young patients, due to the position of the teeth at a certain age. For this reason, Dr. Torres is interested in promoting that the largest number of young people with dental problems of this type go to his dental clinic. Even so, adults are welcomed with the same enthusiasm.
Although the doctor is a specialist surgeon, he also performs more common and routine procedures such as dental cleaning and dental veneers. Dental veneers are pieces of some material such as porcelain. They are used to correct aesthetic or pathological problems of teeth, such as tooth decay, changes in color or shape of teeth, and previous restorations. Dr. Torres solves dental problems, both those that have not yet been treated, and those that have been treated wrongly and that presented unfavorable results. The dentist is also recognized for rehabilitating edentulous patients (i.e., who have lost all teeth) using a fixed or removable dental prosthesis, as well as for extracting complicated chords. Whatever treatment the doctor applies, try to carry out a minimal invasion of the tissue in order to observe a speedy recovery and avoid subsequent sequelae.
Currently, Dr. Torres is promoting the most innovative equipment in Guatemala for implant treatments and fracture osteosynthesis. Jaw osteosynthesis presents certain questions when choosing the most appropriate technique, which is chosen depending on the type of fracture. There is osteosynthesis of the jaw that requires long treatments, hip bone grafts, or other bone. At the San Lucas Dental Center, Dr. Torres has at his disposal more modern diagnostic techniques and tools to obtain panoramic radiographs, tomographs, magnetic resonance, tomographic cuts, and X-ray images.
The San Lucas Dental Center went from being a small dental clinic to one of the most modern dental care centers in the country. It has renowned professionals and specialists in different areas of dentistry such as Dr. Claudia Julieta Rodas Flores, child dentist, Dr. Ana Cecilia Cabrera, adolescent and adult dentist, Dr. Martha Georgina Fonseca López, elderly dentist. In 2016, the dental clinic acquired the international accreditation of Acreditas Global, a subsidiary of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This Chicago-based institution authentically complies with quality and safety standards and protocols in health centers such as hospitals and outpatient surgery clinics.
