I like to listen to them and assist them in what they need, especially if they are adults or seniors. These 30 years of experience have given me the ability to treat various ailments and patience to humanely attend to my patients. “– Dr. Martha Georgina Fonseca López
Dr. Georgina Fonseca is a dentist with more than 30 years of experience. She is the General Director of the Dental Center San Lucas a multidisciplinary clinic that has the technology and national and international licenses to serve Guatemalans and foreigners, located in the municipality of San Lucas Sacatepequez, 12 km from Antigua Guatemala. The doctor specializes in adults and seniors who require dental care.
Dr. Fonseca is a dental surgeon and has specializations in general dentistry, geriatric dentistry, and dental prostheses. From this varied range of studies, he has treated cases effectively. For example, the knowledge he has about endodontics, a technique to cure dental diseases, has been essential when implementing prostheses. She has gained experience over 32 years in Guatemalan institutions such as the Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics, the Capouilliez School, and the Bethlehem Institute. During this long trajectory, she has developed the ability to solve problems and a wide technical skill, mainly in the treatment of prostheses. Although the doctor is a specialist in dental prostheses, she also performs routine procedures such as dental cleaning and dental veneers. Dental veneers are pieces of some material, such as porcelain. They are used to treat aesthetic or pathological problems of the teeth, such as cavities, changes in the color or shape of teeth, and those related to previous restorations.
The patients, attended by the doctor, are adults or the elderly mostly. Mainly, they come to the office for a dental prosthesis, which can be removable or fixed depending on the needs of the patient. For example, when the person is physically handicapped, the doctor usually recommends a fixed prosthesis to facilitate their daily activities. In addition, the dentist instructs them on how to apply a good dental cleaning, which is essential in these cases.
Dr. Fonseca enjoys attending adults and seniors. She knows the needs of his patients and understands the limitations they face, which allows him to provide conscious and effective attention. The dentist shows an empathetic treatment with her patients since she likes to talk and listen to what they want to express.
At this dental clinic, Dr. Fonseca has a complete team to perform diagnosis, which includes tools for x-rays and tomography. Performs treatments with high-tech materials such as porcelain bridges, metals, hybrid materials, and removable prostheses with cards. The result is comfort and good care for the patient.
