“We transform lives by giving smiles back.”
Dr. Ana Lucia Solórzano is a specialist in Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics. She has 7 years of experience in Guatemala and has completed more than 250 cases. Among the patients she treats, 60% are adolescents and 40% are adults. The trend in the increase of cases in adults is due to the fact that nowadays they are not only looking to align their teeth for aesthetics, but also for chewing function to improve their health in a comprehensive manner. The doctor understands all these needs and that is why her greatest satisfaction is to see her patients happy and self-confident smiling again with a natural, healthy, and well-functioning smile with all their teeth in a good position.
Duo Dental Group they have the most advanced technology for computerized digital radiographs, with which they can see with patients the treatment plan they want to perform. For an orthodontic evaluation, they perform a panoramic x-ray, a cephalometric x-ray, and a dental tomography, which is called “Cone Beam”. The latter refers to a set of 3D images of all the teeth, their soft tissues, the thickness of the bones and nerves to be able to perform more accurate and guaranteed treatments.
Dr. Solórzano also knows that many patients are very sensitive to tartar cleaning and suffer a lot of pain. For this reason, she has a high technology for the removal of tartar, which can be graduated in intensity, in order to perform a painless and more comfortable cleaning for the patient.
Dr. Ana Lucia Solórzano received her degree in dentistry and dental surgery from the Universidad Mariano Galvez. She then continued studying for her master’s degree in Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics. In addition, she annually takes special courses to renew techniques in orthodontics. Thanks to this, she is a certified specialist in lingual orthodontics, invisible orthodontics, and current trends in orthodontics. One of the latter is the use of micro-screws. These are attachments that are placed on the gums in order to avoid extractions, which is what many parents want for their children.
For Dr. Ana Lucia Solórzano the most important thing is that the patient feels comfortable and understood as to what they want, in order to achieve that dream smile, which is not only functional but also restores self-confidence.
The doctor works a lot on fear and anxiety to the dentist, they achieve tranquility through different aromas they have in the clinic, headphones that are given to patients, so they can enjoy a series on Netflix or listen to their favorite artist. In this way, they mitigate or cancel out the noise of the devices, which is what makes the patient most nervous.
Dr. Solórzano recommends her patients to always look for certified orthodontic specialists, as she frequently encounters cases of people who have been wearing braces for 5 or more years and are not progressing in their treatment, presenting, in addition, several dental diseases such as cavities or periodontal disease (a disease caused by tartar accumulation) due to prolonged use of braces. This type of situation does not happen with Dr. Solórzano, since she attends all her patients in a personalized way in each monthly appointment, making sure that the cases progress adequately and are able to come out in the planned time (average 2 years, complex cases maximum 3 years).
